Olivia Meekins Toatley is a retired educator from Reston, VA. Her 40 year career has afforded her experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She has been married for 46 years and has 2 children and 5 grandchildren. In addition to her career and family life, Olivia has served within her church and larger community in various ways. She has served in her church as Servant Leader of the Academic Enhancement Committee and in the music ministry. Her calling and passion are to lead students, families, and educators in the creation of learning communities that are powerful, equitable and inclusive.  Learning communities must be built on academic excellence, educational equity, and a guiding principle that each student is unique and wonderfully and divinely  made. 
Her 40+ years in education have equipped her for a new season of service where she can advise, guide, counsel, and lead conversations with those who are still out in the field. Because of each student's divine creation, birthright, legacy, they are unique.   Olivia believes that it is the sacred duty of any adult working with students to identify, cultivate, celebrate, honor and grow the unique learning style of every student for success and excellence.  As Chairwoman for the CUASI Legacy Scholars Initiative, Olivia’s role is to provide leadership in the development of strategies to empower students, families, educators and other caring adults to fight against and end systemic injustice in all educational arenas.
